Upcoming Baptist Healthy Living Support Group Events You Won’t Want to Miss
Each month, Baptist Memorial Health Care and Memphis Public Libraries host an informational session on a particular health and wellness topic as part of our Healthy Living Support Group Series. These seminars feature local experts and are free to the community.
Below is additional information about our upcoming Baptist Healthy Living Support Group events at Benjamin Hooks Library:
“Silence Hides Violence”
Thursday, March 23rd, from 6-7 p.m.
Come hear from experts on the signs of abuse and violence and learn how to best support or help individuals and families in our community.
Speakers include Grace Hilton Young from the Memphis Homeless Shelter, and the Family Safety Center’s Director of Communications and Development, Jordan Howard.
“Watch Those Allergies”
Thursday, April 27th, from 6-7 p.m.
Learn more about what precautions should be taken when preparing food to accommodate for individuals who suffer from food allergies.
Participants will hear from Kelly Barnett, Director of Food Allergy Alliance of the MidSouth.
“Food Safety Matters”
Thursday, June 22nd, from 6-7 p.m.
This special session on food safety will share ways that people can prepare food in their own kitchen while also preventing the spread of harmful bacteria.
The speaker will be Willis Green, a program assistant for the SNAP-Ed Program. Mr. Green is also an employee at Tennessee State University and works with Shelby County Extension.
