Finding fun activities for kids during summer can seem like a tough job, nevertheless Memphis has a ton of great spots to check out that the entire family will love. We have done the hard work and compiled a list of four places to try out for a fun-filled day.
Memphis Zoo
The Memphis Zoo is a great place to spend the afternoon with the family. Spanning 70 acres with more than 3,500 animals in 500 different species, kids will be entertained while also learning about wildlife. This location is one of just four zoos in the country that has giant pandas on exhibit and was home to the longest living hippopotamus. Get a day pass and wander around the different exhibits as you please, or check out their event calendar for activities for kids.
Shelby Farms
If you love to get out into nature, Shelby Farms Park is a great place to visit. With 4,500 acres of green space, families love to explore this unique space. Walk or bike on a variety of trails, go fishing in more than 20 bodies of water, visit the buffalo range, enjoy a picnic, and check out the variety of events held in the amphitheater. No matter what your interests are, Shelby Farms has something your family will enjoy.
Pink Palace Family of Museums
The Pink Palace Family of Museums has something for everyone in its one-of-a-kind setting. Check out the wide array of temporary and permanent exhibits in the Museum, take a tour of the Mansion, enjoy a movie in the 3D Giant Theater, explore space at the Sharpe Planetarium, and much more. Memphis Redbirds
If your or your child enjoy sports, the Memphis Redbirds have games often throughout the summer. After joining the Kids Club, children receive free admission to Sunday home games and other cool merchandise.
